Reflections
Generosity

There are a number of congregation members who regularly volunteer at Ascension’s Children’s Learning Center. They support the children in reading, singing and learning and remind them of God’s unconditional love for them. Each year, Christmas is an opportunity to connect in even more ways to those around us.
The Knotty Kneedlers gave a hat to each child, plus their siblings, on the day of the CLC Christmas pageant. They also gave 70 hats to the Ladies’ Lunch Bunch to be distributed, along with scarves, gloves, and some clothing to KPC, West Elementary, & Partners in Housing. The ladies of Ruth Circle provided four CLC kids with stockings full of specific needs expressed by their family and the Confirmation class participated in a Thrivent Action Team Grant to fill up 50 stockings with treats and fun surprises for each child at the center. The children also received a special visit and prayer with Mr. and Mrs. Klaus, who handed out the stockings to each child.
Dear God, as we prepare to celebrate your coming among us, we lift up especially the littlest in our midst and city. Lead us in ways that nurture faith and community. In your name we pray, Amen.
