“Thy Holy Wings, O Savior, spread gently over me,
and let me rest securely through good and ill in thee.
Oh, be my strength and portion, my rock and hiding place,
and let my ev’ry moment be lived within the grace.”
So we sing this Sunday. This Sunday, one week after we lit candles in hope and in grief. This Sunday after yet another shooting, this time in a church. This Sunday when many we know are injured or sick or struggling with the weight of life. This Sunday, this one day each year, when we take time to recognize our need for God’s healing.
You are invited this Sunday to a service of healing. During worship you’ll have the opportunity to kneel at the altar, receive anointing of oil and a prayer for healing. Whether your sick, grieving, or just weary of a world of sickness and grief, come receive God’s mercy in oil and prayer.
