Our God, Our Hope

You have been given no specific promises that I know of. No promises of
wealth or health, fame or family. No matter. You have the same God.
The God of Abraham and Sarah. The God who came in Christ. You can have
hope without all the details. You can have hope, not that the specific
thing you long for will happen, but that God has not left you. Never
will. It’s a different sort of promise and a different sort of hope.
Less specific, but perhaps more meaningful. Hope that God’s not done
with you. Never will be.
