Reformation Sunday Worship Services will be held at 8am and 10:30am. All are welcome!

All are invited to a Sunday Community hour for fun conversation, music, crafts and games. This hour is guaranteed to celebrate the Reformation in style, learn about God’s grace and help you get to know others at church! All are welcome!

About Sunday’s Guest Trumpeter, Alex Szasz

We welcome again Alex Szasz to play for us for Reformation Sunday.  We have enjoyed our time together over the last several years.  Alex will be moving to a position with the Air Force Bands in Washington, DC soon and we will miss his professionalism, kindness and wonderful talents here at Ascension.  We wish him well on his endeavors. Following is his bio from the Air Force Academy bands.
 
Technical Sergeant Alexandru Szasz, trumpet, joined the United States Air Force Academy Band, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, in November 2017. He currently performs with the Concert Band, Marching Band, and Stellar Brass. TSgt Szasz started his trumpet studies under the direction of John
McElroy, former principal of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. In 2015, he completed his undergraduate studies in Trumpet Performance from McGill University in Canada, where he studied with Andrew Dunn and Russell DeVuyst. Recently, he completed his Master’s degree in Trumpet Performance at DePaul University in Chicago under the guidance of professors Bill Denton, Matthew Comerford, Matthew Lee, and Tage Larsen.
 
Over the years, TSgt Szasz has received numerous awards and honors such as the Merit Scholarship at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, the Outstanding Brass Scholarship at McGill University, and a fellowship at the Atlantic Music Festival. He has played several summers as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player with the Sibiu Philharmonic Orchestra in Romania, at the Romanian-American Summer Festival.
