True Freedom

“When Jesus rises from the dead the disciples are overjoyed because they know what this means. It means they are no longer bound by the rules and the customs of the Romans, it means they are no longer bound by the laws of old, it means that like Christ they are no longer bound by death itself. They are freed from all of that. But then in the story, Christ immediately calls them. As God called from Mount Sinai, Christ calls them to bring God and this good news of freedom to the rest of the world.”
