Ute Indian History Presentation, Sunday November 21st

Posted on November 16, 2021 | Posted by Mary Stoneback

Why is it called Ute Pass? Because the Ute Indian Tribe traveled that way from Garden of the Gods to South Park. Find out more about Ute history between services on Sunday November 21st in the sanctuary. Edward Box III will tell us about his tribe’s history as people of the shining mountains. They consider Garden of the God’s and Pikes Peak to be among their most sacred places. Edward is a member of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe and served as their director of cultural preservation. He comes from a fascinating family of Ute spiritual leaders and artisans. You don’t want to miss this.
