MEET THE 2021 FEST TEAM
THANK YOU TO THE FOLLOWING CHRISTKINDL FEST TEAM FOR WORKING DILIGENTLY TOGETHER FOR MONTHS TO MAKE THIS YEAR’S FEST A REALITY AND TO THE COUNTLESS VOLUNTEERS NOT PICTURED HERE FOR THEIR EVENT SUPPORT, BY WHICH THE FEST COULD NOT HAPPEN!
GREETINGS FROM THE 2021 CHRISTKIND HOSTS
Guten Tag! My name is Ruth Albrent-Runnells and my husband is Justin. Christmas is our favorite time of year. As Wisconsinites we would prefer a little more snow in the Springs, but we are making the most of it by celebrating Christkindl. We both have German ancestry and we love sharing the traditions of Christkindl with our church and surrounding community. Enjoy the festival, eat (the almonds are great), drink and be Merry! Prost!
FOLLOW THE ENTRY WAY TO THE LOWER LEVEL OF THE CHURCH TO CHECK-IN YOUR CHILDREN IN AND OUT DURING THE EVENT WHERE YOUR CHILD WILL RECEIVE A WRISTBAND. PARENTS & GUARDIANS, YOU ARE WELCOME TO LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN AS LONG OR AS SHORT AS NEEDED IN CHILDCARE THROUGH THE EVENING. IF YOU DO CHECK YOUR CHILD IN AND THEN PICK THEM UP FOR A PERIOD OF TIME DURING THE FEST, PLEASE CHECK YOUR CHILDREN BACK IN.

Ascension Lutheran Church is grateful to provide various alcoholic beverages for this year’s Christkindl Fest. We also want to keep all who attend and drive back home safe. It is our practice to check ID’s at the table next to the Gluwhein tent where you’ll receive a wristband and three tickets for drinks through the event. Thank you for your understanding and helping us keep all having fun safely!
CRAFTS FOR ALL AGES!
LOCATION: LOWER LEVEL
Thank you to Kristen Daughtery Smith for creating three unique, age-friendly crafts for this year’s Fest! Choose from the following crafts:
PreK – 6 years: Painting wooden stars and hearts
Age 7 – Teens: 3D Stars
Older Youth/Adults: Origami Paper Star Ornaments
Ellie Urlaub (Décor Lead): I love decorating any space for any occasion to make it festive and welcoming. For me, the Christkindl Fest is a chance to create a warm and quaint gathering space through twinkling lights, sparkling ornaments and nostalgic Christmas decorations. I hope you enjoy tonight’s event and feel the magic of the Christmas season.
David Urlaub: A Christmas market is a great way to begin Christmas festivities. One of my favorite parts is how the crisp, cold air fills with the fragrance of sizzling sausages, sweet pastries and hot spiced gluhwein. Gluhwein is something my mother has been making as a Christmas tradition for years and I am happy to share it with you today. Enjoy!
