A Faithful Approach to Difficult Topics
Does it seem like there are so many important things to talk about in our world, but you never have the conversation because you aren’t sure how to talk with those who disagree? This common modern dilemma is not just frustrating, it’s also a problem we are called to transcend as people of faith.
Climate Scientist Katherine Hayhoe gave a talk on this very subject with the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability. While the talk discusses climate change, the insights and ideas extend beyond, as will our discussion. Be sure to watch the video before the discussion and come ready to share and learn over a potluck at church on June 22nd at 6pm.

Faith Seeking Understanding, Ascension’s Book and Podcast Club, explores contemporary topics from a faith perspective. We’ve read books and listened to podcasts on immigration, race relations, homelessness, water rights, transgender issues, cell phones in schools and more. All are welcome to join us on the 4th Monday of the month for a potluck at 6pm and discussion at 6:30. Zoomers can also join us at 6:30. (Unfortunately, we won’t be able to offer the zoom option this summer.)
